About This Blog

At the moment, it's a bit hard for me to describe exactly what this blog is, as it makes more sense in my head and that my head doesn't make much sense to most people. But vaguely-speaking, it's a blog pertaining to The Beatles. But truthfully, it's going to be more about George than the other three. And it'll probably be a repository for me to bitch about certain cliches and misconceptions that I have seen over the years, too. (As really, as much as people don't want to admit it, most people frame things relating to The Beatles from John's perspective and leave it at that. So yes, there is plenty more that can be said that already hasn't been said!") I suspect things will sound a bit fringe at times, but it'll never get to the level of "Paul is dead" sort of bullshit.

This is actually the second attempt of making this blog. The former attempt was located at a slightly different URL and with a different host that implemented WordPress into its backend. I didn't get that site too far off from the ground because of how laggy stuff was and due to health-related concerns. I was trying to run it in a more SEO-friendly way that didn't quite jive with how I prefer to do things, too, so it was more of a chore than something enjoyable for me. I decided to take advantage of my hosting expiring and starting things from anew elsewhere.

One thing that I did carry over from the first iteration of this blog was the general color scheme, header image, and a couple of other elements. The title of the site references George Harrison's song, "After the Savoy Truffle" from the White Album.

The candy designs are from the artwork found inside boxes of Mackintosh's Good News presumably during the 1960s.

The color choice is based on a different assortment of chocolates that were made by Mackintosh’s, Week-End. I chose the orange, green, and purple used throughout this blog from the lettering found on the box for these chocolates. From what I can tell, the particular image I referenced depicts the design of packaging used by Mackintosh’s in the 1950s.

Don't expect this site to run with a regular schedule, as I'm not seeking that sort of engagement and regularly have my hands full with other dealings. But do expect some slight changes in the layout and other elements. (Seriously, if I can figure out JavaScript a bit more, I'll try to add some tags. My attempts at adding them haven't worked so far.)

So enjoy your time around here! ...or don't. I'm not going to force you to have the same tastes and preferences as me.
